If you have any x-rays, reports or scans it may be helpful if you bring them with you to the appointment.
Ideally, wear loose, comfortable clothing and gowns are provided if required. For neck and shoulder problems, please wear thin strapped singlets. For knee, hip, groin problems, please wear shorts.
Initial appointments last for up to an hour; follow up appointments are 30 minutes.
A referral is not necessary, except if you are making a WorkCover, motor vehicle accident, Department of Veteran’s Affairs or Medicare claim. In the situations mentioned you must have a referral from your general practitioner or specialist.
Every effort will be made to get you in as soon as possible. (* An appointment time will be offered to you within 24 hours of contacting the clinic Monday – Friday)
Firstly a thorough assessment involving your physiotherapist asking a number of questions about your problem then a full examination will be performed of the area in question. Your physiotherapist will then aim to provide a diagnosis. A treatment plan and prognosis will be explained, as well as likely duration and treatments involved. You should receive treatment during this first session as well.
Payment must be made on the day of treatment. HICAPS on the spot claiming facilities are available, so bring your private health fund card to claim on the day of treatment and reduce your out of pocket expense.

Physioedge physiotherapists are trained in assessing and diagnosing musculoskeletal conditions. As such, we use the information given to us by the patient and perform an appropriate objective assessment taking into account the muscles, joints, bones, ligaments, tendons and nerves. Thus a thorough assessment is performed and a diagnosis is made. A safe and gentle treatment plan is then implemented to restore pain-free movement and function.
